   Excellent analysis by Crooke. My own conclusions were similar with respect to the assassination of Pierre Gemayyel earlier.

   I also found Crooke’s recent piece in the London Review of Books superlative.

   According to a former lecturer of mine, Professor William Harris, most targeted assassinations of high-ranking politicians in Lebanon, which is really just a satellite state of Syria, are carried out by the Syrians themselves.
